As a pet owner, the over-excited, tail-wagging, ‘welcome home’ is one of life’s greatest joys. How good would it be if you never had to say goodbye in the first place?

More and more companies have been adopting a ‘pet policy’ in workplaces, and the benefits are proving worthwhile.

A few of the key reasons that pet policies at work are proving popular:
Creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
Increased employee engagement and motivation
Reduces stress levels

In 2021 Purina conducted research with a thousand pet lovers across New Zealand, which showed just how much happier Kiwis are with pets around.

They found…
96 percent of New Zealand pet owner respondents felt that having a pet around while working from home improved their mental health
95 percent of respondents said pets made them a happier employee
71 percent of respondents said it helped reduce their stress levels
48 percent of respondents stated pets helped them get outside with more with 43 percent taking more breaks.
