Renaissance of redesign: D-Sign Studio

This past decade has seen a seismic shift in people’s relationship with the environment. Sustainability is the future and when businesses embrace this, anything is possible.

Interior designer Shreeni de Silva heads a boutique furniture redesign studio that champions sustainable thought and practice.

Established in 2013, D-Sign Studio is renowned for its handpicked, unique furniture, décor items and giftware.

“Our overarching philosophy is that from each item salvaged and redesigned, one dollar is saved to plant a tree,” Shreeni explains.
Shreeni works as an interior design consultant in both residential and commercial design, and is well-known in real estate for her savvy designs from when the business ran a home-staging company.

Apart from redesign, the studio also custom-designs for clientele, such as the reconfiguring of a cherished heirloom piece to fit in with the period of a home. Furniture painting workshops are regularly held onsite, and the NZ made Artisan premium chalk paints can be purchased for DIY projects. Passionate about design, Shreeni’s eye for detail speaks for itself in her work. Shreeni loves meeting with clients to discuss all options available to help achieve their dream outcome.

D-Sign Studio is located at 95 Main South Road, Sockburn, Christchurch.
